Nature Room


A little room has been set aside to display some samples of the nature of the area as well as artifacts of the native people from the area. These displays include Indian tools found in the area and some of their traditional crafts such as moccasins. The Neepawa area is renouned as a bird watcher's paradise, there is a display case with some local specimens. Also in the museum's possession is an endangered whooping crane shot in 1909. At one time these birds nested in the area but now to see one is very rare. Also a collection of stones and rocks from the area are displayed.

The artifacts in this room have been moved all over the museum and have finally come to be displayed all together in a new room in the basement. One of the most outstanding specimens is the stuffed whooping crane that was shot in Salisbury in 19??. Today this bird is pretty much exist in this area when at one time they were plentiful. Displayed is also rock samples from different parts of the world.
