Local Fraternal Organizations History
- The Masonic Lodge is about as old as the town, being incorporated on March 12, 1883 when a dispensation was granted to John. A Davidson, Marmaduke H. Fieldhouse, J.J. Hamilton, James Allan David Bryce, Henry Connell, and Jas. Crawford. The organization was disbanded in 1996.
- Naomi Chapter #11, Order of the Eastern Star, was instituted on December 16, 1920 with a long list of charter members.
- The institution on Neepawa Lodge, No. 16, I.O.O.F. took place January 1889; while its sister lodge, Anemone Rebekah, dated back to November 11, 1910.
- Loyal Orange Lodge #1494 was started in 1880, W. James Graham was the 1st Worshipful Master. The local Ladies' Orange Benevolent Association received its charter on April 26, 1915.
- The Forresters (now disbanded), the B.P.O. Elks, the Canadian Legion branch and the Neepawa Lions' Club date back to the 1930s. The Rotary Club began in 1951.
