Florence S.D. #203: 1884 - January 1, 1976
Named in honor of Florence Nightengale, Florence School was formed "about 1884" in a log building on SW 23-16-13. A new school was build on SW 14-16-13 in 1900. The school district was dissolved January 1, 1976 and became part of Plumas School District #88.
Ivanhoe S.D. #764: March, 1893 - July 1, 1976
The school was formed March 1893 and was dissolved July 1, 1976. The second school was built of SW 31-16-13 in 1911 and later moved to SW 30-16-13 on the Plumas - Eden Road. When dissolved it became part of Plumas S.D. #88, Glenholm S.D. #208 and Arden S.D. #341.
Molesworth S.D. #765: 1895 - January 1, 1968
The first school was built in 1985 on NE 30-17-13 and was later moved to 31-17-13. A new 2-room school house was built in 1917 on NE 19-17-13. Molesworth S.D. was dissolved January 1, 1968.
Tenby S.D. #872: 1896 - ????
Arbitrators from the councils of Lansdowne and Westbourne were responsible for the formation of Tenby S.D. #872 in 1896. The school boundaries changed with the Germania and Luciania S.D. were formed in 1899 and 1904 respectively. The school was known as a Unio School because it was supported by taxpayers from more than one municipality.
Edington S.D. #933: 1898 - 1955
Named in honor of the "Edingtons" the first settlers in the district. This school district was formin in 1898. The school was closed in 1955 and the children were bussed to Plumas.
Berton #1912, Helston: 1918 - 1970
Prior to the number forming of Berton S.D. #1912 the children of the area attended Bear Creek School. Berton Consolidated School #1912 was formed in 1918. By 1970 children from the Helston area were being bussed to larger centers for schooling.
Salisbury S.D. #127: 1882 - 1966
Officially opened in 1882, it was the 4th school in the district. The first classes ever recorded were in a log building in 1881. In 1883 a school was built on SE 21-15-14, another in 1910, and a brick on in 1921. The school closed in 1966.
Ayr S.D. #150: 1884 - 1964
Residents of the Mekewen area formed the Ayr S.D. #150 in 1884. The shcool operated until 1964 when it was closed and the children bussed to Gladstone.
Glenholm S.D. #208: 1883/1884 - 1968
Opened in 1883 or 1884 and closed in 1968. During its' 64 to 85 years of operation the school occupied 3 different buildings in 3 different locations; a small log building, a one-roomed frame building; and a two roomed plus full basement cement structure.
Rose Ridge S.D. #280: 1885 - 1919
Formed NE of Arden, classes were held as early as 1879-1880 in the home of Thomas Dunning with Julia Dunning as teacher until the S.D. was officially formed in 1885. The school was closed in 1919 and consolidated with Winchester S.D.
Plains S.D. #340: 1889 - 1919
To the NW of Salisbury S.D., Plains S.D. was formed in 1889. Thirty years later in 1919, the district was divided among Salisbury S.D., Eden Consolidated, and Glenholm Consolidated.
Brydges S.D. #576 / Orange Ridge S.D. #576: 1889 - June30, 1968
The first school, known as "Brydges", was built in 1889 on SW 8-17-14, land donated by the Hudson Bay Company. The name was changed to Orange Ridge S.D. in 1929 to identify with the community it was part of. A new school was built on SE 17-17-14 in 1926 and in 1956 the school was moved to SE 18-17-14. On January 30, 1968 all rural schools in Lansdowne came under the jurisdiction of Beautiful Plains S.D. #31 and all on room school houses would be closed June 30, 1968, including Orange Ridge #576.
Twyford S.D. #663: 1892 - 1951
Formed in 1892, it was discussed over the years to consolidate it with Arden S.D. It wasn't until 1951 when Turyford actually was closed and consolidated with Arden.
Winchester S.D. #706:
Opened in 1893 the school has had two different sites and still stands today.
Ridgeview S.D. #883: 1896 - 1917/1921
Sitting in between Arden S.D. of Glenholm S.D., Ridgeview S.D. #883 was formed in 1896 and consolidated into Glenholm between the years of 1917 and 1921.
Oakleaf S.D. #745: 1893 - 1968
Formed in 1893 in the far north of Lansdowne, all registers and records were lost in a fire in 1960. A new building was built and moved to Kelwood when Oakleaf became part of the Turtle River S.D. in 1968.
Keyes Union S.D. (Midway) #1068: 1900 - 1967
Formed in 1900 in the eastern boundary of Lansdowne. It closed in 1967 and joined Pine Creek S.D.
Sinclairville S.D. #2063: 1921 - 1966
Organized at a meeting in the home of John Sinclair in 1921 and it was one of the youngest school districts. It closed in 1966 after 45 years of service to the community.
Arden School District #341: 1884 - 1954
Was formed in 1884 but not officially opened until 1887. A new two room school house was built in 1900. Two small one-roomed buildings were later added and used until the present four roomed building with auditorium and other small rooms was built in 1954.
