  • Neepawa was honoured to be 1 of 8 Manitoban communities (1,036 Canadian Communities) to host the Olympic Flame as it travels from coast to coast to coast across Canada in the 106 days leading up to the Olympic Ceremony of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
  • The Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay, presented to Coca-Cola and RBC and supported by the Government of Canada, represented an extraordinary opportunity to showcase our community to the World.
  • We had some truly memorable and inspiration entertainment planned to celebrate our day as an Olympic Town.

  • We were also delighted to have been given the opportunity to name Muriel Gamey as the Community Torch Bearer to light the cauldron at our celebration. The person we’ve chosen was nominated by fellow members of the Neepawa Torch Run Task Force as someone who well-presents us and exemplifies the values of the Olympic Movement.
